I am playing again with Frilly and funkie. This challenge is all about four big Renaissance Men- Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphael. I was inspired by Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino and his probably most known angels painting-Sistine Cherubs... it is all about angels, hearts and love in my head. I made a book with heart, it`s suppose to be for some love lyrics and sentiments or ...... Book is also made with cork, like my tag yesterday.
Some of you asked how I made cork tag. I made a tutorial , but be aware that this is my first tutorial and my english is….dissaster!!
So lets go:
Stamp some text on regular paper (or you can use some printed paper). Cut small squares and use distress ink on the edges for a vintage touch.
Glue everything together.
Measure and cut cork. For this project I chose to use 4 millimetre thick cork and it`s perfect.
Also cut 2 pieces of blank paper for inside covers. I am a very messy person and I prefer to finish this inside covers at the end.
Glue the cork on a blank cover first and then add the front cover. It’s good to put something heavy on this (a heavy book is perfect) and leave it to dry overnight. The next day the covers will be dry and neat.
If you wish to make a frame too: cut some cardboard – don’t forget about right angels! Choose an embossing folder for texture and paint it. Leave to dry. Now add some distress embossing powder and heat. Before you wipe distress embossing powder (to remove the release crystals), add some pearls in powder and heat again.
I also made some book corners with the same technique, buthere I used grungeboard.
Embellish your covers, bind it all and…TA DA; you are finished!
Hope you understand it all!?!?? LOL
Vsem domačim ustvarjalkam, se opravičujem, da tokrat ni slovenščine. Če je slučajno katera, ki česa ne razume, naj me kontaktira na mail (viden v profilu). Hvala
WOW that is awesome, your covers are really beautiful, the heart in middle and the great words looks very impressive!
Sharing the progress is very inspiring.
Thanks for visit and your lovely comment.
Gorgeous book covers - I love the collaged text papers, and the layers behind your heart - and a super tutorial, thank you. No need at all to apologise for your English... I'm betting most of us English speakers couldn't even begin to craft in Slovenian!! Another wonderful project - I love your work so much.
So cool and beautiful, Ana!
You created such a lovely stamped background for the heart in it's frame!
Understood every detail, excempt from the window you cut out of the cork: did you cut out this window from the stamped on cardstock too? (This is, where you put the wood shavings in, right? It looks like it on your pictures, but I did not see it in the tutorial, so I am not quite sure).
Love especially the book corners - they really rock!
Such a gorgeous book!!! Love it!!!!
Hugs, die amelie xx
Ana, this is so gorgeous! So much texture, love the colours you used too. Loved your tutorial, it was so clear and easy to follow. The title was a clever use of words... If that book were mine, I would copy snippets of favourite poems into it xx
Hvala ti za tale tutorial. Knjiga pa je naravnost čudovita, sme čisto navdušena.
